My name is Mrs. Leavitt. I graduated with my bachelor's degree in elementary education from University of Phoenix. This is my seventh year teaching. I taught third grade for five years before I moved to fifth grade and I have loved them both. I have also taught preschool and been a reading specialist. Before becoming a teacher I received a degree in Interior Design from LDS Business College. I love to be creative and artistic. I am excited to be back teaching fifth grade again this year!
I am married to an amazing man and we have four kids; all are teenagers. We also have a dog, named Cade, a lizard named Zeus that attends school with me, and seventeen chickens. I love spending time with my family. We try to do different things together. We like having movie nights, karaoke night, and camping! I love going to the farm to play with the sheep and pet the horses and I love playing with my chickens. I also love chocolate, cookies, and shopping with my girls. Benjamin Franklin said, "Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn." I believe him and that students should be involved in their learning. I feel that learning should be integrated, fun and exciting. |
