I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend. I am impressed at how well the students did on our Static Electricity test and spelling test last week. The Studying paid off. We are starting our Current electricity unit and we will be studying the westward expansion. |

Welcome to 3rd term and 2018. This term I am going to make some changes to the math. If a student doesn't finish their assignment in class they will need to take it home and turn it in the next day. We will go over the day before's assignment so it will be important for them to finish their assignment on time. Students should still study the spelling words at home. This is very important for their spelling success and this weighs heavy on their grades.

This week I forgot to send home spelling words so I will post them on here.
We are also visiting the care center for our annual Christmas service project next Monday and singing Christmas carols. We are looking for a few parent volunteers that can come with us. We will be leaving her at 1:45 and will be returning at 3:00. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Biz Town is tomorrow and all students and volunteers need a lunch and to be dropped off at the Cresent View Trax station at 8:15am. The address is 361 East 11400 South. Students dress up for their job or wear field trip uniform (white shirt, black pants). It is not too late to turn in your $5 donation for the field trip.
Volunteers need to meet at the Children's museum upstairs at 8:45am- 9:00am. The address is 444 West 100 North, SLC UT 84101. You can park in the North Parking garage. There is an entrance from the garage to Discovery Gateway. We are excited!
The Christmas concert is also tonight. Students need to be here at 6:15 in my room. The concert is from 6:30-7:30. They should be in uniform preferably white or red shirts. They may wear a Santa hat.
We have just finished our land forms unit. We had a wonderful time making land form dioramas. We also finished up with 2 volcanoes. The students did a wonderful job.
We are now starting our unit on the colonies and we will be learning about magnets in science. Our Colonial fair will be on November 20, 2017 at 1:00 in the gym. The students will experience a few things from the colonial days.
Dear Parents,
I hope you had a fun and save Halloween!
We are currently working to learn about landforms and how they are created. We will be creating a diorama and painting it in our art class. We could really use some help to make the dough needed to create the diorama. We will need 1 bag of dough for each child. They will also need a piece of cardboard cut into a 9x9 or 12x12 square. We will need this by Friday November 3, 2017.
If you are unable to get the supplies I will have extra provided. If you are willing to make some extra batches of dough please let me know.
Thank you,
Mrs. Leavitt
