We had a great week learning more about maps, longitude, (the earth has long hair) and latitude (a big ape is climbing the ladder of the earth) and volcanoes. We learned about how the earth has a crust, like a cherry pie and there is magma bubbling underneath trying to find a hole to bubble out of. When it comes out that cherry filling that escapes is called lava.
We also learned about all the native americans that were here before the explorers came to the American continent. We will learn more about them next week.
Next weeks IXL assignment is A.2 and A.3 and remember you only have to get a smart score of 80. If you would like to challenge yourself you can go to a smart score of 90-100. If you did not finish last weeks IXL assignment of A.1 don't get behind. This weekend is a great opportunity to get caught up.
Have a great Labor Day and Remember No School Monday!
