A Bearded Dragon A Lizard Native to the Australian Desert
Feeding Zeus You are welcome to bring in food for Zeus here is some information to help know what to bring.
What does Zeus like to eat? He is an omnivore which means he eats both plants and animals. He eats mostly plants of fresh vegetables and fruits. A few times a week he eats proteins that come from animals or insects like meal worms or crickets. We feed him dried food called Flukers Buffet Blend Adult Formula. He also loves to eat live insects but it is IMPORTANT that they are not caught from outside where the bugs could have a disease and then it would make Zeus sick. You are welcome to bring in crickets or meal worms purchased at the pet store. This would be very appreciated!! Here are some of the fruits and veggies that he likes and doesn’t like.
Likes Green Leaf lettuce (he eats this almost daily) Romaine lettuce (this can replace the green leaf) Watermelon Grapes Apples Apricots Strawberries Carrots Cantaloupe Mustard greens Kale (not his favorite)
Doesn't like or Cannot eat Sour fruit or Vegetable Spinach Oranges Lemons Grapefruit Iceberg lettuce It is always fun to have Zeus try new fruits and Veggies. I always check online to see if it is a food he should eat before I feed it to him. He should avoid citrus foods and spinach because it blocks his calcium intake. Also foods like Iceberg lettuce do not give him any nutrients.
