Don't forget the class market will be this coming Friday at 12:00. Remember to bring something to sell. Volunteers are welcome, please email me so I know who to plan on. Thank you.
I hope you had a wonderful holiday. I wanted to inform you of a wonderful opportunity that is at the BYU Art Museum. The Norman Rockwell collection is on a traveling exhibition. It will only be here until Feb 13 and you do need tickets to see this wonderful display. I feel this would be a great chance to take your children to see history. Norman Rockwell is an artist that can appeal to children and the best part is the entrance is FREE. Norman Rockwell painted a picture of Ruby Bridges. She was a little black girl who went to school with white children. The integration had a huge impact on integration and civil rights. Our Students have learned about Ruby Bridges and being able to see this painting would be a wonderful connection to their education. http://rockwell.byu.edu/ I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas vacation. Excited to see everyone back at school. We will be back into our communities unit. With this unit I have been giving the students class money as a re-ward. As we return back I will have the students earn more class money for jobs in class and attendance. They will also be responsible to pay for rent on their chairs and asks and other things that go on in the class. At the end of the unit we will have a class store where they are able to bring in small items to sell and purchase with their class money. Hopefully this will be a wonderful learning experience in communities and economics. This weeks Star Student is Shritha. Please remember to create a poster and bring in something for the estimation jar.
